Welcome to AGMC the Arlington Gem and Mineral Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, where our rich history and dedication to the earth sciences and lapidary arts have united generations of enthusiasts. Founded in 1957, AGMC has been a beacon for those passionate about rocks, gems, and minerals, providing training, education, and a welcoming community for over four decades.

 Monthly Meetings

Monthly Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month and are open to visitors.

We have a potluck and time to socialize starting at 6:30 pm, with the meeting and program beginning at 7:30 pm

Everyone is welcome to attend. It is a perfect opportunity to see and hear what the club has to offer - We hope to see you there (and don’t forget to ask someone for a tour).

If you are interested in attending a class and are not a current member, you may become a member by signing up online, or attending one of our monthly meetings and joining at the club (we have family rates available for same households)

 Code of Conduct 

1. Introduction

The Arlington Gem and Mineral Club (AGMC) is committed to fostering a welcoming, respectful, and professional environment for all members. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behavior to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved in AGMC activities, including workshops, meetings, field trips, and community outreach programs.

2. Membership Expectations

All AGMC members are expected to:

  • Support the mission and values of AGMC.

  • Act with integrity, honesty, and professionalism.

  • Respect fellow members, guests, and the community.

  • Follow all applicable laws and AGMC policies.

3. Respect & Inclusion

  • Treat all members with dignity, regardless of age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, or background.

  • Refrain from discrimination, harassment, or bullying in any form.

  • Foster an environment of collaboration, mentorship, and education.

4. Professional Conduct & Ethics

  • Represent AGMC in a positive manner at all times.

  • Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose any potential conflicts.

  • Adhere to ethical practices in business, trade, and personal interactions.

  • Respect intellectual property, confidentiality, and proprietary information.

5. Safety & Responsible Use of Resources

  • Follow all safety protocols when using tools, equipment, or AGMC facilities.

  • Use AGMC resources, including workshop spaces and club materials, responsibly and for their intended purposes.

  • Report any unsafe conditions, misconduct, or violations of policies to the Instructor, Delegate at Large or an Executive Committee Officer.

6. Conduct at Events & Activities

  • Behave professionally and courteously at AGMC sponsored events, including field trips, shows, and outreach programs.

  • Follow the guidance of event leaders and adhere to site-specific rules and regulations.

  • Respect the environment and obtain proper permissions before collecting specimens.

7. Conflict Resolution

  • Address conflicts respectfully and professionally.

  • Report violations of this Code of Conduct to the AGMC Delegates at Large or the Executive Committee for review.

  • Understand that violations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or revocation of membership.

8. Compliance & Enforcement

  • The Executive Committee will review complaints and take appropriate action.

  • AGMC reserves the right to amend this Code of Conduct as necessary to uphold the integrity of the organization.

9. Workshop & Equipment Use

  • Members must complete any required training before using club tools or equipment.

  • Equipment should be used safely and returned in good condition after use.

  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate club officer.

  • Members shall clean up after themselves and respect shared workspaces.

  • Personal projects should not interfere with club-sponsored activities.

10. Leadership & Governance Responsibilities

  • AGMC officers and committee members must lead by example and enforce this Code of Conduct fairly.

  • Leaders should address concerns promptly and ensure transparency in decision-making.

  • Any conflicts of interest involving leadership must be disclosed and appropriately managed.

11. Disciplinary Process for Violations

  • Violations should be reported to the Executive Committee in writing.

  • The Executive Committee will review reports and may request a meeting with the involved parties.

  • Consequences may include verbal warnings, written notices, suspension, or membership revocation.

  • Members have the right to appeal disciplinary actions through a formal review process.

12. Social Media & Online Conduct

  • Members should represent AGMC positively in all online interactions, including social media, forums, and emails.

  • Do not post defamatory, offensive, or misleading content related to AGMC or its members.

  • Personal grievances should not be aired publicly; concerns should be directed to AGMC leadership.

  • Members must obtain permission before posting photos or videos of AGMC events or members.

  • Club-related discussions online should align with AGMC’s values and mission.

By joining AGMC, all members agree to abide by this Code of Conduct and contribute to a positive, respectful, and ethical community.
